Comparative Practices 101
Necromancy

Necromancy is an interesting topic in today’s world. Many Paths do not believe in it at all. They simply leave their energy beholden to a human grave awaiting a messianic “return”, or a “buddhic” reincarnation, etc. Their Consciousness forever trapped in the beliefs in the sacred ground of Mother Earth.

Having spoken with many of these spirits on my own”, says Reverend Richoz, “I have Experienced that many refuse to go to Divine Energy without that strong ideal that was planted in Matter, their Experiences of Life.” It is quite interesting to be told “you’re wrong” by a spirit, or ghost, who is “stuck” in a religious piece of ground because they fear the other natural energies outside the gates, or themselves.

Unhealthy Fear

A major Path created its own thought forms, or egregores, over the past few thousand years through their continual corruption of Unhealthy Fear. This is allowed as we are ALL “free willed” aspects of Divine Energy. However, placing the “genie back in the bottle” is a difficult task for many of their Path walkers. Exorcism used to be a way to HELP a spirit, energy or ghost, return to which it came. Over time, it became a way to HURT and control both the egregore and the “demonic” perceived entities that are most times misunderstood natural spirits — or even aspects of Higher Self of the individual that has Unhealed Shadow.

Continuing on we see several Paths have fear of Spirit, and a select few who actually embrace it.

Even some of you reading this now fear death. Fear the dead. Fear spirits. Why? Explore that.

Ancient Hekate Thought

In ancient society, it is said that a dog that is barking at night -- at seemingly “nothing” -- is announcing the presence of Hakate. Necromantically speaking, the animals that accompany Her were once thought to be people, or other animals, She spiritually saved them. They are loyal to Her with gratitude and grace now. She is an embodiment in Her avatar of the Unconditional Divine.

She is capable of anything, good, bad, indifferent. As said, She is Unconditional. She is what we know as a true avatar of Spirit.

Transcribed to Greek and then Roman in the story of Persephone, Demeter, and Hekate, She is representative of the evolution of the Divine Feminine energy. She is both the “giver” and “taker” of life, just as the other Goddesses we have looked at in previous Lessons. When working with and for the dead, Hekate is a wonderful Deity to call upon. Whether you are seeking only to divine, or you are seeking a “safe passage”/”easy passage” for another, Hekate IS that Key to Spirit.

Hekate for the Dead

To ask for safe passage, or assistance in passage for another, our Ancestors, transition between Matter and Spirit —- we can call upon Hekate. We can do this in any way that we are called and at ANY TIME. She Is ALWAYS around as the Divine always is.

Look at the Correspondences for the chosen method to honor Spirit via Hekate.

What flower do you see? Rose? Lavender? What incense? What colors? Red? Purple? Black?

Go with what is felt Divinely to offer. It is understood also for the past few thousand years that Hekate prefers to work with an offering of sorts or a deipnon. This is a meal in Her honor and is something many do often, even to this day. It would serve well here.  Some of the things Devotees of Hekate like to have in their deipnons are fish, eggs, and leeks.

Once decided on how to Craft for Hekate, we can then begin to write our Petitions for Her.

What form do you need to call upon from Her?

Examples of Calling Upon Hekatean Necromantic Magick

Who is passing? Do they need guidance, and be led between the worlds of Matter and Spirit?

Call upon Her avatar, Propolos, “She who leads” - if you are asking Her to guide them.

Does the way need to be lighted for them? Do you need to call upon Hekate to light the footpath of the soul for a wayward relative that may not be able to cross, or died suddenly?

Call upon Her avatar Phosphoros, “She who brings light”, to light the way for them.

How about some Ancestors that you know have had a hand in atrocities perpetrated against others?

Call upon Her avatar Abronoê, “She who gives grace”, to lighten their soul-felt burden of experience.

She has hundreds of Divine avatars! She will come to your aid if asked… sometimes, even if you do not.

(Yes, you can call forth growth and healing energies for lives past lived and future lived to work on their Shadow. This is especially beneficial if you know you were a part of it in YOUR past and must do the Shadow work as well to evolve in Spirit experiences now.)

Here are the words written for a group Ancestor Veneration Ceremony:

“Oh great Hekate Dadouchos (torchbearer), Torch bearer of Persephone and the Underworld, I appeal to you on behalf of my Attendees.

I ask that you shine your torch light to guide our Ancestors and Loved Ones who have passed beyond the Veil.

Oh great Hekate Enodia (the one in the streets), Mistress of the Ways, as we approach this crossroads between the planes, I pray that you show those in need the most correct road to travel on their Soul’s Journey.

Oh great Hekate Propolos (leader), Leader and Guide, please be our companion and lead our Loved Ones on the road to successfully pass through the Underworld.

Oh great Hekate Phosphoros (bearer/bringer of light), Bringer of Light, please shine your sacred fires to illuminate the darkness that lies ahead of them so that they may see clearly where to go.

Oh great Goddess Hekate, to you I call!

Blessed be thy Name!
Blessed be thy Will!

Hail Hekate!”

A “different” tone was used for this public group Ritual, as we will learn, should we stay the course. We do this because not everyone knows the history and evolution of dogma as we have learned at APMS. Many are “put off” by non-dogmatic/hermetic ceremonies, yet do not understand the “why”.

Regardless, NOW is the time when our “between” is thinner in the northern hemisphere and we are not bombarded with so much EMF interference from other solar bodies in the Milky Way. It is an ideal time to complete Craft such as this.

Hekate for Necromancy

When performing Craft for necromancy, most Practitioners understand we are NOT the Creatrix of this plane. A lot more goes into “giving life energy” than “reanimating”. (Mary Shelley’s - Frankenstein is a wonderful read if you have not.) They feel that once Spirit leaves Matter, only Spirit can unite them again.

However, with that said, we can call upon “dead spirit”. Some of us prefer to call it “Transformed Spirit.” It is the energy of that spirit remains, even a remnant such as a shard, shade, or shadow can be activated. We can call upon it for divination, assistance, etc. if there is noted intelligence. It does NOT mean they will be happy about it and we may have some fallout if not done “per protocol” of our Path or the Path the spirit chose to follow.

For example, if we are calling upon a spirit that followed a Xtian Path, we many NOT receive a happy energy. They are not always keen on being “disturbed” and often would rather be left alone to pontificate in their “eternal rest”, or if they are in fact in their perceived “Hell” or in a perceived “Purgatory”.

(Some caught in this dogma spend a very long time frozen in place between Matter and Spirit.)

Another example, if we call upon an Egyptian spirit, the ways of Old Egypt often used effigies of the departed or spirits in question. A doll. A statue. Nothing too demeaning as some spirits will notice what we are doing to them and react accordingly. But, this is used to call the spirit into the effigy. This is done unless of course we are used to having spirits around and are an Empath, or can “feel” their presence in some way.

And then there is the Hermetic way. This method is also subscribed to by Luciferians mostly and those of Golden Dawn. Very domineering, Ego driven, and a concept that all “spirit” MUST BE CONTROLLED. We can see the fallout from this on other Paths (Wicca) that use some of the same tools, such as an athame, to Call, Command, and perform Ritual. These “tools” give many Practitioners a sense of power over their own fears (Matter)… and sometimes that works for Spirit too. Especially if one is dealing with a “demon” that has been a Church creation/thought-form and has been undisturbed for a long time.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are going to deal with ANY THING connected to the Church, please follow Hermetic or Catholic procedure as these entities are often their energetic perceptions and creations. Some time, although not often, you will find a Land Spirit or Element that has been deemed “demonic” when it is in fact – NOT. You will know immediately if they are … after some exposure of course. It will take time to learn what is an Ally and what is not.

Above is a picture of tools, Plant Allies, used for necromancy such as calling entities, divination, banishment, protection, abundance, and various Sex Magicks amongst other things. You will notice several Plant Allies we have already covered and see why they are present in such a Craft. If you zoom in, you can read the ingredient lists of the items we had prepared with Magick we trust from a Demonolatry Necromancer we know well.

Think About It
Necromancy

What is your practice with necromancy? What are your THOUGHTS on the Craft? What are your FEELINGS on the Craft? Have you ever asked for “safe passage” on behalf of another? Does the Circle of Life and Death remain ‘taboo’ to you? Do you divine, a form of necromancy?
