”Year and a Day” Draw

This can be the most in depth divination through tarot some do this year. It can also be the most daunting tarot draw some do in a life time. For those who walk the Path of a Cleric Practitioner, understanding and preparing for what is ahead can often keep them from being shaken from their Tree, or their Truth, spiritually.

This divination will require some time and effort but will be referred back to throughout the entire year as we walk arond the Wheel. It is advised that both a picture is taken and it is written in a Book of Shadows or Journal for email submission to Three Circles Medicine.

Since we are divining for the year to come and what lies ahead for us, we need to clear our space energetically and completely ground before touching the cards we are choosing to use. Do this per your personal practice. It is asked that also per your chosen method that the deck you choose for this task be cleared of all previous energies as well. The deck we choose is not simply ‘the one I like’ but one that calls to you today. Take a moment and FEEL that this is the most accurate deck for your Divine to commune clearly with you through BEFORE you proceed.

After you have settled and are ready to begin drawing for the year, place the thought in your mind that this is for your Year and Day around the Wheel, and what you need to know each month. Of course what comes through may not make sense right now, that is not its purpose. But, just as we read for others, we say things like, “just keep this in your mind for when it comes up”, remember the same goes for ourselves.

With the deck in your hands or near you per your practice, Focus on the first month,

April.
Place in you mind the things you have planned, the state of Mother Nature around you, the weather for that time, goals, anything you associate with April. Spend a moment before you ask the Divine, your Higher Power (whatever that is to you), “what do I need to know for the month of April?”

Turn the card over and place it before you. Study it, answering the questions from Lessons before, including both your interpretation Intuitively and the artists book meaning. (We said this was a heavy assignment!) Continue this process for each month, until you reach 12 cards (year) plus one (day). The card you draw for your “day” can be asked as if it is for that day —or you may ask for that week.

LONG JOURNALING
Now, the Key to this Lesson is keeping this divination result where you can refer back to it when needed. Some keep it in a Journal. Some take pictures and place the corresponding card they divined as their background on their preferred devices for that month. No matter how you decide to keep this data, this Knowledge, present, you will need access to it for the next year and a day. We will be discussing these divinations as well as ‘positive’ results as we go.

Once the divination session is complete, you can submit a list of the cards via email with the card listed for each month and the one card for your ‘day’.

Magick responsibly, close your space or cicrcle according to your practices if that is what you do. (If you have already divined for each month of this year because it is your personal practice, it is up to you if you want to share that with TCMed. If you wish to keep that draw ‘personal’, please draw for ‘public’ to submit.)

REMEMBER, do not doubt yourself or the message as it comes to you.

1. What deck are you drawing from?
2. What cards did you draw?
3. Before you turned the card over, what was your interpretation of each card?
4. What is the FIRST thing you noticed about your card that was relative to what you were feeling as you turned it over? Did that mold, change, or evolve the feeling?
5. Read the card creator’s ‘book meaning, how close to this was your interpretation with relevance?
