World Studies 101
British Isles

The origins of the Celtic peoples are uncertain for many archaeologists but they appear to have started to migrate from eastern Europe around 2000 BC. The Celts spread across western Europe including Italy and the Iberian Peninsula, as well as France and the Low Countries before arriving in the British Isles about 700 BC. They arrived at the beginning of the Early Iron Age according to archeological finds. There were further incursions from France and the Low Countries in the early part of the fifth century BC, mainly into south-east England.

Britain had been inhabited from the Bronze age — or earlier — going back to at least 2000 BC but it is not clear yet as to what extent the Celts displaced this earlier populations or simply colonized and assimilated them. The Celts had trouble becoming a unified kingdom but remained a tribal people with a more or less common language or communcation base.

Once established in Britain, Celtic society was temporarily disrupted in southern England by Caesar's raids of 55 and 54 BC (as you will see on the video) but continued to flourish for nearly a century with increasing influence from the Roman world. During the Roman period, especially in southern Britain, it subtly metamorphosed into a Romano-Celtic (usually referred to as Romano-British) culture, in which some of the most recognizable achievements were in art. This Romanization continued until 409 CE when the Legions were withdrawn and the invasions of several different groups began.

Scotland by this time was ruled by several Pictish kings but in the early 500s CE in the west of Scotland, the Scots, a Celtic tribe from northeastern Ireland occupied Argyll while the by-then North and South Picts moved into Cumbria and the German Anglo-Saxons invaded eastern England. It is believed by many that these last were in quite small numbers but their stronginfluence eventually led to their dominance. The purer Celts remained on the edges in Cornwall, Brittany, Wales, the Isle of Man, Ireland and Scotland where they continued their tribal life until around 1200 CE. The last remnants are still with us in the clans of Scotland and Ireland though much muted due to further colonization through 1745.

This was the simple story of people movement. We will look deeper into the dogmatic movement of Rome on Thursday.

Rest your eyes and listen…

World Studies 101
British Isles II

This will be the next to last Tuesday Travels for this course. We will begin fleshing out or adding to our Psychic practices as well as Divination practices on Tuesdays after this British Isles stop.

We will also explore a few of the “witch trials” from around the world as well as visit a few places of magickal origin as we complete this leg of our Journey. Feel free to share any knowledge you may have on the topics in the FB Group or sending an email to 3CMM. We will gladly distribute any stories you wish to share with Wahya Circle or the school.

Attached in the previous Lesson, you will find an excellent Youtube video detailing the general, mostly accurate, history of the Pre-Roman British Isles, up to the first Roman conquest. It is rich with Ancient History that would serve you well having the knowledge of as we dredge through Western Magick that is rife with Roman corruption. The video is long, but pay attention to the exchange and corruptible points of the histories of the people.

Can you recognize them?

Try to observe the ‘reasons’ behind motivations relative to ideas that stand out to you. There will be something that catches your attention in this study!

We will not be aware of the Pre-Celtic British Isles until possibly the end of our lifetimes or later into the next generation, if government allows science to look, and our global environmental climate continue to change. We are in a great state of flux archeologically. It is very important to begin gathering facts in truth and sharing those amongst all people.

We have much to learn.

The video on this page will be the bulk of your Lessons for this week. The video will be assigned today, questions related to the video will be found on the Knowledge Check for Ulagohvsdi.

Season of Solstice

Another season has come upon us. How do you recognize it? Do you graciously accept it as another day on this plane? Do you celebrate the Christianized season of Christmas? How about the Winter Solstice? Do you celebrate the many days of Hanukah, or Yule? Again, how do you honor or venerate this time? Are your traditions going to incorporate more of the earthen, indigenous, elements that we are all a part of, or will they remain as the dogma requires it to be?  How do you now view these passages of time? What has changed, if anything? There is no “wrong way” when celebrating the UNCONDITION of the Divine, and the Path you choose to walk. <3
