Other Abilities

Prophetic or Revelatory  – On some Paths, any of the aforementioned natural abilities may be considered prophetic in nature due to their ability to foretell the future or transmit a message from the “heavenly realms”. This is an oversimplification.  For example, as it is one of the longest maintained written holy chronicles, the Bible speaks of nine abilities of the Spirit and divides them into three categories: speaking, knowing and doing. Did you know that? Probably not, as most of us wear fear-mongered about “burning lakes of fire” and did not care to delve deeper into such stories.

SPEAKING
Under the category of speaking abilities come the ability of prophecy, tongues and interpretation of tongues.

KNOWING
The knowing abilities are words of wisdom, words of knowledge and discerning of spirits.

DOING
The doing abilities are faith, healing and working of miracles. These abilities are still relevant today.

Looking at these incorporated ‘pagan’ practices specifically, we know there are many other Paths these stories were taken from. All that should do for you as a Practitioner of the Arcane Arts is validate your Path, as it is what came from others Paths that is “truth”, no matter who is holding the book.

These abilities we have are natural and innate and any Practitioner that has read any of the Books of Time, such as the Sumerian Tablets or the Rigveda,  can tell you this. Even those who study the younger texts written thousands of years later can attest to these abilities of Spirit.

HEALERS
Ability to Heal  – As you grow in your spiritual progress, you may notice that you have the ability to heal others as well as yourself.Healing Self is of utmost importance. If you are well, carry on. If you are not, then the energy you are trying to pass, may NOT go where you have Intent for it to, it may truly “go where needed” … and that need is in YOU. Please keep that in mind when trying to heal others.


TELEPATHY
Telepathy - Telepathy allows for mind or spirit to communicate without the use of verbal or physical signs, language or symbols. Telepathy between people and animals is a scientifically proven fact. We KNOW our Animal Allies and our babies can tell a “good person” or one who will not harm them, from a “bad person” — a person who will harm. Another example is one of a mother knowing instinctively when her children are in danger.

We can all “tap in” to this type of energy. But what is it? Telepathy is communication from mind to mind or soul to soul without any visible means of physical contact. Contact on a higher plane, however, is very real. When you work magick, you contact your Higher Self or a Deity, or Element, etc.

There are dozens of other abilities that can fall into this discussion, but, you get it. These abilities are natural and we as humans should have kept them honed all along … like that cat, or dog, that will not go into a room because it “sees” or “smells” something. We must attune.

British Isles

The origins of the Celtic peoples are uncertain for many archaeologists but they appear to have started to migrate from Eastern Europe around 2000 BC.  

Could they have migrated there from Western Europe?  Some think so.

The Celts spread across western Europe including Italy and the Iberian Peninsula, as well as France and the Low Countries before arriving in the British Isles about 700 BC. They arrived at the beginning of the Early Iron Age according to archeological finds as of this Lesson. There even seemed to be further incursions from France and the Low Countries in the early part of the fifth century BC, mainly into south-east England.

Britain had been inhabited from the Bronze age — or earlier — going back to at least 2000 BC but it is not clear yet as to what extent the Celts displaced this earlier populations or simply colonized and assimilated them. The Celts had trouble becoming a unified kingdom but remained a tribal people with a more or less common language or communication base. 

Once established in Britain, Celtic society was temporarily disrupted in southern England by Caesar's raids of 55 and 54 BC (as you will see on the video) but continued to flourish for nearly a century with increasing influence from the Roman world.

During the Roman period, especially in southern Britain, it subtly metamorphosed into a Romano-Celtic (usually referred to as Romano-British) culture, in which some of the most recognizable achievements were in art. This Romanization continued until 409 CE when the Legions were withdrawn and the invasions of several different groups began. 

Scotland by this time was ruled by several Pictish kings but in the early 500s CE in the west of Scotland, the Scots, a Celtic tribe from northeastern Ireland occupied Argyll while the by-then North and South Picts moved into Cumbria and the German Anglo-Saxons invaded eastern England.

It is believed by many that these last were in quite small numbers but their strong influence eventually led to their dominance. The indigenous Celts remained on the edges in Cornwall, Brittany, Wales, the Isle of Man, Ireland and Scotland where they continued their tribal life until around 1200 CE. The last remnants are still with us in the clans of Scotland and Ireland though much muted due to further colonization through 1745.

Sixes

Sixes represent stability and security or the potential opportunity to find and embody it. We got this. A halt, ceasefire, or something to the like has been called for on individual battles or struggles in life.

Are we listening? Are we fully living in Six? Are we healing the Shadow that is connected to it? Are we checking the Unhealthy Ego?

If indicated by surrounding cards, the storm seems to have passed as each Suit will seek to Comfort, Harmonize, Make Peace and Equilibrium in the only way they know which is governed by their influencing Element, Earth, Air, Fire and Water. 

If unevolved, most will be showing signs of exhaustion or fatigue but hey may all need help and support from those around them as in the other cards in one’s reading. Sixes in the Tarot are also connected with Charity, Patronage and Support. 

Mind limited or finite resources. We are wisest to look to those around us, family, friends and wider community to assist with the continued Journey.  The weight of growth and change is best shared amongst everyone. All have a role and duty to play at this stage and the act of Giving and Receiving comes into strong focus here.

Are your scales in balance?

Notice the people on their knees. They cannot ever gain what they need.

Why?

Maybe they are not “awake”. Maybe they have not evolved through certain Experiences of Spirit in Matter. Unhealed, we are wise to NOT be afraid to ask for help. Ask, but also receive it or accept the help if offered.

If evolved, and working actively on Self, this card can not only indicate that one is living life to its fullest potential, it can also indicate that we are or should be receiving what is rightfully ours. If we have an abundance, share. Pay it forward. Be sincerely charitable, not because it gives a tax break.

Mind your investments. Especially HUMAN GROWTH.

Are you investing time or money in someone that is not utilizing the efforts well? It is okay to be a rescuer, but do NOT enable.

GENERAL MEANIN
This card can: represent gifts, kindness and generosity.
Someone in our life may be very generous towards us with gifts or money or simply generous with their time, knowledge or wisdom.

Alternately, we may have so much wealth and prosperity that we are the one in a position to help others. If we are in a difficult situation at the moment, this card can indicate that there is help available and that someone will assist or support IF WE REACH OUT. We may be feeling a strong sense of community spirit or compelled to help those around us when it appears in our Tarot spread. It is also a card of power and control so we may find ourself in a position of authority or being well-respected by others when it appears in our reading. The Six of Pentacles is usually a positive card to get as it can signify equality and fairness and can also symbolism being well paid, being valued or being rewarded for hard work. If we are prospering when it appears, we are wise to share our good fortune with those around us to keep the energy of the manifestation going!

Cups - Hearts - Emotional - Element Water

Happy times, real or perceived. One can make their own happiness, but is it founded in truth? Is it a denial of needed Shadow or Ego work?

GENERAL MEANING
Seeing the Six of Cups in a reading can represent nostalgia, childhood memories and focusing on the past.

Is there Shadow Work undone, or Unhealed Trauma?

When this card appears in a Tarot spread we may be being influenced by past events, reminiscing about the past occurrences or thinking about someone from our past. The Six of Cups is also the Minor Arcana card of children, young people and youthfulness and can represent having children or taking care of —or working with them. This goes for ANYTHING that is “young”. It can be referring to Plant or Animal Allies.

It can also signify simplicity, playfulness, innocence, goodwill and sharing. It can represent protection and family, too. If we have been going through a tough time, the Six of Cups may be telling us to take the support available to us from family and close friends.

When the Six of Cups appears in a Tarot spread it can also indicate that we may be acting childish or immature regarding a particular situation.

Are we owning our part?

If combined with certain supporting cards it can, in some cases, indicate childhood abuse. It can also signify homesickness for those that live abroad.

Swords - Spades - Thought - Element Air

The person who draws this card “survived” – barely, whether it was by luck, wit, or Will alone. Is it now time to take a trip to clear your mind?

There is an increase in emotional intelligence. There is also a notable increase in the willingness to learn after an event.

Ask Self, “am I approaching this with an open mind?”

Do I need to send another, more qualified, person in place?

We are ready for the next step, or need to reassess the situation if unhealed.

Can you make it better?

Never allow negativity to trap us. Negative people, etc. That bears no fruit in our relationships and does not serve to our Highest Benefit. Step away from it. Re-stabalize. Balance. Wise person.

Choose times to speak wisely. Timing is everything.

GENERAL MEANING
Six of Swords represents progress, moving into calmer waters after trauma, moving on or moving forward. Card of overcoming hardship, beneficial healing, relief and stability. If we have evolved consciously through the traumas we Expereince, we can expect problems in our life to settle down and things to be much easier to deal with when this card shows. The Six of Swords can also represent escaping, running away, —a sign of being unhealed or un-evolved. It indicates journeys, travel, traveling overseas and going on holiday with others. It can sometimes signify feeling lethargic and deflated after coming through a tough time or the calm after the storm. It is also a Tarot card of intuition, inner guidance and spirit guides.

It’s a “Think” card.

Wands - Clubs - Transform/Transmute - Element Fire

Victory after absolute disturbance occurs.

GENERAL MEANING
Six of Wands represents success, victory, winning, triumph, achievement and having the advantage. This si especially true for the Healed individual of both Shadow and Ego. It also signifies praise, acclaim, awards, recognition, applause and goodwill.

This is a card of fame, celebrity, fans, well-wishers, supporters, crowds and being in the spotlight. It indicates that someone is being a leader, riding high, confident and proud with high self-esteem. It is a card of strength and stability and can also represent successful campaigns and winning battles.

“This is not the first rodeo.”

“Yes, this person can do this.”

Not as important in presentation of person, let hair down. Relax after victory. Breathe. Reassess completions.

Again, as an unevolved person, they may not be happy. Pay attention to surrounding cards. Try to determine where one is overlook growth and evaluate why one does not accept their successes.

Sustainability. Community. (work?) Enterprise. Mentality.

Major Arcana

Is it not interesting that the two Major Arcana cards were devised in such a seemingly juxtaposed way? Reduced numerologically to same number, 6, often a harmonious number in Spirit. VI Lovers is Spirit and XV is Matter, are simply a representation of when we are either “guided by Spirit” or “guided by Matter”.

The Lovers VI

In this card, the “Radiance of Love is present”. Pure love produces much fruit, love, action, rain on hot days, …bathes soul, well being, fulfilled life completely.

Other Paths show influence by their symbols on this card, such as Christianity and Hermeticism.
It can also represent balance in the sense of “One Vice, One Virtue”.

What is the Querant’s question? How does it relate to what we see?

Two paths. A choice. A temptation. A choice between belief systems. Person has question of which way to turn on a decision.

Buy vs. rent. Yes vs. no.

Is someone causing an upset? Someone stirring things up?

Person is not necessarily “bad” they are just causing indecision.

“Two different stories”

Numeral six is also indicative of the divine force of nature. Are we dealing with an antagonistic person?  There is equilibrium between intelligence and will.

The winged being is symbolic of the Authority between two. Meaning, everyone should remain EQUAL. Hence, no “head” of household exists.  There are NO BODY PARTS in a family. ONLY PURE LOVE. Share in responsibilities, even children. Children are extremely intelligent and can share in small ways.

Universal Love. Be the Love you feel you need and give it.

Female character is subconscious mind

Male is conscious mind.

Winged being is superconscious mind.

Everything comes down to the question being asked. Remember: “Every card answers every question, every time.” You just have to SEE the answer.

“The only person that can live your life, is you.”

GENERAL MEANING
Over all, this card can signify perfect union, Harmony, Love and Attraction. If the person is evolved in Self, this card represents beneficial energies. Unevolved, someone may be hurt emotionally or physically. The Lovers can represent finding the balance within oneself. We are learning to understand Self, our own personal moral code and what we value in life. This will bring harmony and balance to life.

In general when The Lovers Tarot card appears in a draw or reading, it is an indication that we have major choices to make or are faced with a dilemma. We may be feeling uncertain about situations, people in our life or we wonder what direction we should take. These are important decisions we are faced with. We are wise to NOT automatically go for the easy road. Making sure that we have all of the correct information will help us to make the correct decision for Self. Even if it seems like a difficult path, it will lead us on to greater things.

The Devil XV

The Devil Tarot card can signify depression or addiction. It can also be a sign of feeling trapped or restricted in a situation. With this Major Arcana card present, we may feel as though outside influences or forces beyond our control are restricting us, leaving us feeling powerless and victimized.

Who, or what, are you giving your power too?

This is the illusion that we are Experiencing when The Devil card appears. We are in control of our own choice, body, mind and destiny . We are not bound by anything other than our own attitudes and behavior.

Do not give up and DO NOT give away one’s power.

We do not have to tolerate negativity, criticism, manipulation or abuse from anyone. There are always options and there is always something positive we can do to improve our situation no matter how hopeless things may seem on the surface. Likewise be mindful of how we are treating others.

We are wise to evaluate how we treat others and that we are not trying to manipulate or control people in our life. The Devil upright in our Tarot reading can also indicate obsessive, secretive or impulsive behaviors for the Unhealed Shadow and Unhealthy Ego to Experience. It can be a sign that we are out of control. The Devil Tarot card is also a signifier of materialism and may show that we have become overly concerned with material things, status or power. These are not things that will make us truly fulfilled as a person so put that energy into the things that will serve to the Highest Benefit!

Torch: lit male’s tale on fire, indicative of libido

Female tail: Grapes: life; living

Male tail: Fire: living; ambition; passion; action

Strong influence on many Paths because this card is misconstrued.

Hand: cross: four elements and spirit - Jewish symbol with hand (Vulcan)

Living to the fullest, excess, judgment by those other Paths. Have we created our own fear? Are we afraid to “let go”? How are you enjoying your physicality?

Pentacle: “devil”; Teaching within 5 elements.         To not be ashamed of living life to its fullest.

                   “Fed lies about need to be restrained. Face is sad.”

(Expression is essential.)

Someone or something you have allowed to dominate your life.       Ask yourself. Take stock. Pure perception, not in reality.

Look at the obvious. Do you feel chained? Controlled?

This is a good card to receive if you are considering a marriage or partnership. It can be a forewarning or something for a prenuptial talk.

In the representation of bondage. BDSM. Do they like it? It is okay. Appropriate use of authority? Are YOU abusing someone?

This card can also indicate illness: When was last checkup? Addiction? Temptation. Anyone can break free from ANYTHING.

Ineffectual person/thing effecting you?

In “future” position, poor decision making or a significant temptation lies ahead.
