Beginning Psychic Energy
The Clairs
When we look at the term “psychic”, we see it has been taken extremely far out of context. The abilities we all have naturally have become somewhat blemished, misunderstood, and most definitely misappropriated. We are often told that these are ‘gifts’ from Divinity. Some beg to differ as they feel these are all “inborn” traits to varying degrees.
We forget that we are but one of innumerable facets of our personal Divine and have these abilities in varying degrees with each Experience of Matter we have, and can most certainly fine tune them just as a musician playing their instrument.
Will we ever learn to embrace that innate and natural part of Self, not fear it, and allow ourselves to have a spiritual “homecoming”?
We’d like to think so!
When looking to the English language for the meaning of this term, we feel it is going to be a difficult climb.
To CLAIR-ify, a psychic is one who uses their naturally occurring ability to communicate with Higher Self, Spirit, the Divine, both giving and receiving messages of blessing, guidance, thought, etc. Some can “just do this”, some require an altered state, some of us even have to work at maintaining this different spiritual vibration.
However, a mystic or prophet is usually also endowed with a purely intuitive ability that is facilitated in a more “normal” state of being or without external aids, if you call your thoughts being overrun by a Divine Entity that FEELS “outside of Self” normal. Either way, the psychic receives information on a dynamic spiritual level and must work to decipher what is being said to them or shown in their Mind’s Eye sometimes. It does not always come easy and can be a series of “trial and error” until we learn, as no books on How to Clair were handed out.
BEGINNINGS
Since the beginning of humankind, there have been many types of psychic, or spiritual, abilities that humans have had. A spiritually receptive person may acquire the tuning in and utilize any number of these abilities, at any time. They can strengthen their “spiritual chops” if you will. Muhammad had these around the same time the Jesus discovered His. Odin is psychically Intuitive. Hekate has both Intuitive and Psychic Wisdom. The capabilities exist throughout all Spiritual Diaspora for all time. It is not “unobtainable”.
You may already have them and not realize, or acknowledge, it. Since they are perceived aside from or a heightened use of our five known senses of Matter, sight, sound, taste, touch, or smell, the ability to “clair” are sometimes referred to as the sixth sense or extrasensory perception (ESP). But are they really “extra”? We do not think so.
When a person begins to Awaken to their true Self and divine potential, spiritual or psychic abilities will begin to emerge and develop naturally. Abilities that have always been there become more obvious and clearer to each Practitioners as they explore their Experiences. Having some point of reference for this will assist in the tuning process. This is one of many reasons that Journaling is important. You can begin to see patterns opening for you in a more obvious way. Seeing patterns of things around you is a sign of personal spiritual evolution.
It is of note, with such stigma and fear associated with the paranormal these days, it is important to dispel any fear you personally may have of such a phenomenon. Conditioned fear of a natural spiritual ability will certainly be a hindrance to your using it with your Practice. Some of this is difficult to heal as we are currently caught up in some major dogmatic distractions as a species. In order to be equipped to do the same strong Magick or Medicinal Works or Craft that other Practitioners can call to manifest, we are wise to utilize these innate and natural tools too.
CLAIRVOYANCE
Clairvoyance – Clear vision. Clair means “clear.” Clairvoyance, or clear vision, allows you to see with your mind’s eye. This allows you to pick up on information about the world around you by seeing images or symbols that pertain to something going on in it. A clairvoyant person may see with their physical or spiritual eyes, shadows, angels, spirits, orbs, and other images in the spiritual world. This manifests whenever the third eye (or 6th chakra) is open and clear and may manifest in dreams or visions. Having your personal Shadow in check is crucial here, as well as Ego.
CLAIRAUDIENCE
Clairaudience – Clear Hearing, Spirit and Matter. Messages are received from etheric realms through hearing. People having this gift may hear spirit messages audibly or within their mind. This is the gift Joan of Arc used, for example. Reverend Richoz hears lyrics or lines of grammar from various forms.
CLAIRTANGENCE
Clairtangence – Clear Touch or Feeling (Touch)
Some people have the ability of psychometry, which is the ability to touch an object, or Being and receive accurate information about the object, owner, creator, past events, traumas, etc, whether living or passed on. This can occur with them having no previous mundane knowledge of said target.
CLAIRSENTIENCE
Clairsentience – Clear sensing Feeling
(Emotion)
This brings the gut feeling or “knowing” of something about another object, animal or person, without having any obvious knowledge of it beforehand. (Someone telling you and you forgetting you were told is NOT clairsentience!)
CLAIREMPATHY
Clairempathy – Clear sensing Emotion. Clairempathy allows a person to feel within their body or emotions the feelings, pain or needs for example, of another Being, Plant or Animal. Or, the ability to feel the emotion tied to an object. Whenever there is a world catastrophe or an instance where there is nearby suffering, people with this ability may begin to pick up on this energy and become a surrogate.
If you find you are having unexplained pain or emotions that surface without provocation or cause, you may be picking up on energy from elsewhere on Earth, or even Self from another Time or Space. It is important for the person with clairempathy to know how to set spiritual boundaries or else clear the energy from their field. This is yet another place to have our personal Shadow in check. Many Practitioners find it beneficial for their current manifestation in this Experience to send energy, thought, light a candle, or otherwise send things like Strength or Peace out to where it is needed that is connected to them.
CLAIRGUSTANCE
Clairgustance – Clear taste.
Clairgustance has to do with receiving a message from the spiritual realm through the sense of taste. You may be able to taste something that you have not eaten or even been near. Ask your internal guidance for clarification about why you are “tasting” this message.
CLAIRALIENCE
Clairalience – Clear smelling.
This is being able to smell odors that don't have any kind of physical source. Instances of this could include smelling the perfume or the cigarette smoke of a deceased relative, used as a sign of their presence around us. When our sense of smell is strong and distinct, we may find that certain smells connect us to past memories or we may be drawn to working as a florist, a wine taster or a perfume fragrance creator. Many have smelled roses and other pleasant odors while Working, Crafting, or praying. This ability is akin to clear taste or clairgustance.
