HEKATE BEFORE GREECE
Let us preempt this week’s Lessons with this:

We do not have and are not finding solid evidence that our history --as it has been recorded --was not a more full and diverse Experience than perceived. It is becoming more and more clear that cultural influences have been falsified throughout our history regarding all Medicines, Magicks and Folk Practices of many lands.

There have been many archeologists, paleontologists, ancient sociologists, orthologists, meteorlogists, climatologists, etc, that are beginning to unearth extensive historical evidence previously overlooked, intentionally, by those who “colonized” our past human lives. ALL OF US have been touched by this deed that was most often inhumane and cruel with grave and costly misunderstandings on a global scale.

Many in the study of the antiquities of society feel history may have been manipulated to serve a specific group’s purpose over another’s —many times. There is also the solidifying feeling that “power” and “riches”, or Matter, were taking precedence instead of continued appreciation of the Balance that already was and is in the Universe. Matter began to seemingly overshadow Spirit for a time.

That is changing again.

We have shared many of these books of reference throughout the Lessons here. We have been shown Magicks and Medicines that do not originate from either a Western European nor American Esoteric source. Many of the Magicks that we have been shown are timeless and belong to no specific Path of dogma, but of Earth Herself.

You have been shown, as Practitioners, that the Medicine and Magick has ALWAYS been here…

…it is a HUMAN PRACTICE.

The energy of Divine Female and Universal belief has ALWAYS been existent.

Anima Mundi needs you to hear Her.

Keep in mind, while the energy we are feeling is real, what was really occurring at the time may not be as it truly was.

Was Greece in a 300 year drought during the time before Rome assimilated them?

Yes. It has been proven scientifically. This occurred several times throughout their history. There were crop failures, food shortages, and famine. This caused social unrest and forced people to migrate, which destabilized political systems.

Could this have influenced stories and how those energies described in them lend change to how they were perceived?

Yes.

See, in this perspective, “Persephone” (Spring) never came. Drought ensured. Hades (hot, dry, drought) hit the lands. The indigenous of the land called upon their Divine Feminine energy to help them. This was understood to be aligned with life giving Water. Heka te, was called utilized to bring back Persephone. The rains eventually returned but many “stories” were added to the mythos during that ancient time.

Is that how it really went down? We don’t know, but it feels like there is some truth in there. What do you think, or feel about it?

Modern Heka te

Modern Hekatean and Reconstructionist followers --Practice as they do so at the risk of being accused of “white washing” Magick or being racists towards other peoples. This is occurring because they are often following the histories documented by biased individuals.

KNOW. YOUR. SOURCE.

She, the Divine, is looking for the Balance to restore, with or without our help. She can, and will do it Herself if need be. As is said, “the World needs Her witches.”

Let’s Talk Language

It is becoming evident in Egyptian Orthography, that what we know as the Latin transcribing of the Roman Hecate, from the pre-Greek Hekate, may be able to be traced linguistically to the actual Egyptian phonetic sounds of “Hey” (A guttural “H”), “Q” (pronounced as the Scottish ‘ch’ in loch, again guttural), and “Te” (a afroasiatic “dee”). Or, “Heqt” (literal transcription) to some. It has also been tied to “hekt” -- the liquid of happy blood and body, which is a presumed connection to Anima Mundi, or Earth’s Spirit, which is currently speaking to all of us. Do you hear Her?  

It is felt that there may have been Semitic bias by the scholars who transcribed these finds during that ancient time.

Those who study linguistics have a leg up in understanding the possible true origins of this Divine Feminine presence lost in translation between Old Egyptian, Linear A, Linear B, Semitic/Hebrew, all the way through the Greek and Latin (Roman). Where the Hebrew lettering is based on sound and as it was transcribed to the next closest sounding letter, you see now what that produced.

Regardless, meaning was lost through the many translations and transposes … Ego of Matter. When linguistically looking at Old Egyptian, the FEMININE article “te” was placed at the END of a word when written. Hence, “Heka Te”, written as “Hekate” —phonetically by the Semitic in Hebrew— which may have lost its meaning of “Magick of the Feminine” or “Divine Female Magick” through continued translations, bias, and Time. There is speculation that a transition to Matter, or Male energy, was already occurring in our tens of thousands year old history.

None the less, these civilizations deserve their acknowledgement for the origins they hold. We do not ask you to try and understand, nor necessarily “accept” the shifts that are occurring. We ask only that you keep an open mind if your thoughts or practices come in to questions by others. Know the reasoning behind their questions. STAY AWARE.
