Raven Magick
For most indigenous tribes of the American continent, the Raven is an Ally of Magick & Medicine and is sometimes a bearer, or harbinger, of messages mostly from the Cosmos to you. Messages that are beyond Space and Time are nestled securely into the midnight wings of the Raven that you see in your Mind’s Eye. Ravens are particular about their delivery. They will only come to those within the Tribe of Golanv who are both able to receive Knowledge openly and whole-heartedly via Golanv from their Divine, Higher Power, Universe, etc.
To the Cherokee and other Tribes, the Raven is seen as the Creator of Light, or Creator of “What Is”, and sometimes on the rare occasion as a trickster figure.
REVEREND RICHOZ - BoS
For me, this latter role is assumed by Raven if something needs to be revealed or learned by an individual and they are not taking the subtleties such as the nearly silent flap of a Raven’s wing. Spirits speak softly. As the Maker of Light, the Raven symbolizes the ultimate creator of all things that existed before the beginning. And, if we see them regularly, …listen. What do we see in our Mind’s Eye when we see the Raven? Are they talking to us specifically? What about tapping on the ground near us or on the hood of the car we are driving, or roof of the porch where we are sitting?
Pay attention.
Be more Aware. These are signs of Protection from Raven… good, bad, indifferent. This behavior tells us that they are Aware, and we are wise to be too.
RAVEN MAGICK
In other tribes around the world, metamorphosis, transformation, and change are added to the stories. The color of the birds is also sometimes different in the stories, from white –to black for example. Overall, Raven Magick is known globally by many. This is a Spirit Guide we hope that each Practitioner has spent some time with, learning about, and have welcomed into the Magick and Medicine as we have been walking with Three Circles Medicine & Magick. Once we come to know Raven, the Energy it offers can then be described as, "Magick." And boy is it!
Keep in mind, that this may be a transformative change in consciousness—an invitation to walk a new and different Path; improve the one we are each on. It may also be the manifestation of an Intention. Or, it may be the opening up of Soul to allow for the unimaginable! There are a great many possibilities.
KNOWLEDGE OF RAVEN
Today we are going to learn about Raven. Golanv - Raven has strong Energy to offer. With that, what can you offer Raven? Is there a story that you know, or have learned on your Journey? A craft? A shiny or pretty thing that they can take back to the Otherside with them — something that you have created, or found that you just quite didn’t know what to do with? (For some reason you didn’t throw it out. Does this feel correct for you?) Or, maybe you know of their mundane existence around your dwelling? Maybe you simply see these birds every day and are able to share photos with Golanv Circle.
Whatever it is, however Raven has introduced itself, share that with us now. Let us build our connection with this Animal Spirit Ally as Practitioners of Arcane Arts. Call upon Raven to be present with on this leg of the Journey. Explore what manifests.
