Comparative Practices 101
spirit, not Spirit?

When we speak of spirit for this Lesson, we are not speaking of Divinity. We are speaking of us, our soul, our energy…life force, or whatever you may call it. For those Practitioners that have spoken with Spirit regarding what lies beyond the Veil, the stories vary.  

For those Practitioners that have spoken with the departed, or their Guides, Ancestors, or just another entity willing to talk about the “other side” of humanity have also heard various interpretations. Those viewpoints run the gamut of descriptions.

We are wise to keep in mind, as previously learned, touching or interacting with others in spirit is a call for Psychic Protection. It can be perceived as a very intense process. Many report “inappropriate” actions with others. But, that is not always the case.

The amount of energy needed to manifest in spirit AND interact with a corporeal being is difficult. We feel its occurrence in one way or another.and often it is merely our mind’s only way to interpret the Experience. Just as an Empath takes on energy of others if they are not shielded, so too can Practitioners become ill or feel assaulted by spirits they do not shield from.

Another thing we must remember, spirits do NOT play by the same rules that govern our plane, i.e.”gravity”. Entities crawling across our ceilings is not a joke. It happens. But, it is not always meant to scare us. Hold firm to your foundational beliefs and what grounds you.

It is a well known fact that spirit (ours and that of others) and other energetic Beings can walk through places where there are no doors, walk up walls, or through floors. Some have even been seen hovering above others. They simply no longer have to comply with our “rules of life” and appear as they wish, unencumbered, NOT to scare you or give you the heebie-jeebies. Keep in mind… these can also be energies from other Times, Spaces and Dimensions.

Reanna and Grant Wilson share some philosophical views with a lot of us. Mr. Wilson has been a huge presenter for many other courses offered at various university systems that we have attended, which we will explore as we go on. Now that the Warrens (Ed and Lorraine) have passed, many look to the Wilsons as a “go to” source, up to and including the Church. (As well as Chip Coffee and others.) All of these are excellent paranormal investigators and mediums.

Comparative Practices 101
Not the Sixth Sense?

Yes. We too can “see dead people” with continued practice and tuning of our Mind’s Eye. Any of us can, honestly.

SIGHT
Spirits come in many forms. Most are “humanoid”, but sometimes we will only see other shapes. At even other times, we will only see a portion of the deer – running legs- across a field. Or, we will only see the top half of a man sitting on our sofa, or merely a head poking through our wall. It is all very interesting mechanics in the way energy works.

Another way spirits, or entities, may appear to us are in their luciform or “light body”. From small, fast Lights of the Fae to plate sized orbs of light and larger, spirits and entities can appear this way.

A way we do not often discuss is the “shadow”.

The shadow is tricky. It is not always an “out to get me” or malevolent situation. We mention it here and will speak of it again simply because some spirits and energies do not have the energy or ability to “shine” for us to see physically. We can still address them without being fearful or provocative just as we would any other spirit, or our neighbors. There are other ways one may discover too.

SMELL
Other senses can pick up spirits as well. We may smell that phantom smell of grandpa’s pipe, an unwashed Fluffy jumping on the bed, or the putrid stink of a spirit in a different state of being.

HEARING
Did you hear that? Not every spirit speaks English. This land was and is inhabited by many indigenous tribes, African, Irish, Chinese, and other enslaved people from around the world. It also had settlers from varied places.

THERE. ARE. DEAD. EVERYWHERE.

Now, imagine DINOSAURS. (Remember the “sound” in the video from earlier?) If humans and other Animal Allies can exert force on this plane, why can’t they?

It is a current theory amongst Practitioners that some strange sounds that have emerged are actually the disembodied voices, or cries, of dinosaurs.

TASTE
Believe it or not, when people say they can “taste gran’mas apple pie” – they can. Sometimes, its not “just a memory” replaying for them. She has come and given that Experience to us to show her presence.

TOUCH
No, that was not a spider web we just walked through. That my friend was an energetic touch. Go ahead, try to wipe it off, but until we move to another area or it has made itself known, it goes NO WHERE. There is nothing to fear, but we may want to set boundaries and re-up our Protection wards until we know the source.

TO KNOW
We are giving “sentience” its own categorical space. This is the primary way that the Spirit (Divine), any entities,  or spirits communicate with you. They do this with the “living” and with each other. As a medium, we simply “know” what is being communicated by seeing it in our mind’s eye, or telepathically. (Clairsentience is a real thing.)

Whether they show us pictures in our mind, write out words on a screen, showing us symbols, etc. they are communicating with us. (This is another reason we keep Journals or Books of Shadows as Practitioners.) Continuing to practice at this with our Higher Self, and Guides if we have establish conversation them, will help prepare us for a very enriched time communicating with other realms of space and time.

The meditations we have given in previous Lessons, practices, enhancing spells, dreamwork, etc are just a few of the ways we can strengthen this Clair ability. As Practitioners, we almost have a duty to continually work on and improve our ability to communicate more clearly.

WISDOM
The World is on Fire. The time of ancestral prophecy, of dismemberment, of unmaking, is here. Civilizations and their illusions of separation and control are coming to an end. Mother Earth cannot be dominated. The Goddess is rising to protect Her endangered children.

Grandmother Spider waves the web of the Universe, and the Goddess Kali wields the sickle knife, destroying the destroyers of Life. But in Her other hand, Kali holds the spindle from which Grandmother Spider weaves. Together they tear and mend, unmaking to repair and make again. You cannot see them, but you can see their magick everywhere.

It’s all One, and this is where it begins.

Beyond the blazing towers and deadly heat  waits the World as it is meant to be – holy, green, and summoning. There are those who respond to the call from the World, from what lives beyond human limitations. By coincidence, by choice, and by sacred ways, they journey to discover their way home.

A young woman, her gaze fixed on the ground before her, hat pulled low upon her brow and heavy pack on her shoulders, walks alone. She carries the weight of the old World with her, remnants of what she has been taught to believe about the World and about herself. She has been bound by constraints and limits, and she longs for a better way to live. She knows there’s another World within her, another World awaiting her.

She has broken free. She strides into the unknown. Her pilgrimage has begun.

ESSENCE
Prophecy. End of illusions and domination. Breaking free. Determination. A choice that changes everything.

COUNSEL
The journey to sovereignty, self, and wholeness requires leaving limiting patterns and beliefs behind. You may start out frightened, burdened, and alone, but you’ll discover wise and loving companions, guides, and Spirits along the path to your true self. Challenge will make you stronger, wiser, and more loving, and countless more blessings await you. It’s time to discover where you are in your life, who you are, and why you’re here.

All that you were meant to be is ready to be born.

MAGIC
There’s something you’ve been taught to believe that limits what you know to be true – about yourself, about Life, about the World. Write down this constraining belief. Then take a white candle and carve the word “Truth” into it. Light the candle and burn the paper with it. Now, write down something you know to be true. Hold the paper behind the candle and let the light of your “Truth” candle shine upon it. Take time to envision the good that you’ve written. Remember that words are magick. Keep your magic someplace safe and look at it often.
