Storytime!
Way back when I first got into Chaos, I did two things with a pronounced quickness.
First, I read Libre Null and The Book of Results.
Second, I looked into the IOT (Illuminates Of Thanateros) the Magickal Order that still sits, at least somewhat high, in the ranks of Magic Groups.
I figured if I was gonna walk this Path, I should sign up.
I read the home page, looked at the requirements, and even though I was somewhat put off by the notion of "group magic", I was inclined to make myself uncomfortable for the sake of growth. Something we should all be, by the way.
Nah, where they lost me was in the commitment to travel to England twice a year for said group ritual magic. This was pre-Covid so who knows if that's changed, but still, I knew I wasn't going to make that commitment.
I have a passport. I can scrounge up air fare. The rubber met the road in that I was NOT going to surrender the time.
I was not about to factor in two, two week jaunts to the Motherland for sake of magic with strangers. It's just not who I am.
The lesson is that I KNEW I was not going to make the time.
I knew it, because I KNOW MY SELF.
With that story told, Practitioners, it is my duty to shoot ya straight and call your attention to the fact that this school, Three Circles Medicine™, much like the IOT, costs not money but TIME.
It is the only commitment asked of you. There is no membership fee, tuition cost, donation drives, nothing of the sort. My wife, who has labored laboriously to pull all this information together, requires only your time. That you make the commitment of time so that, in truth, you do not waste hers. It is only fair.
I will also remind you that if this were virtually any other institution you can imagine, from something born of Pinterest, all the way to Ivy League, you would have to pay money to attend. There would be tuition, membership dues, book fees, etc...and also a time commitment that if you did not satisfy would COST you MONEY. And obviously, a lot of time, yours and others.
So please, if you're serious about this, and I hope you are, stop and realize how good this school is, how easy it is. How designed for your success it is. How FREE it is except for TIME.
Know yourself, and don't waste anyone's time.
Not yours, not the good Reverend's.
Move forward with the Circles ONLY if you can commit to the Time, and if it turns out you can not make the time, do not be upset when you're dropped. It's how it works anywhere you would go.
