Advanced Practicum
(Polar) Bear Magick
& Medicine

In Polar Bear, or Bear, Medicine and Magick, we are ALWAYS able to call upon the energy of our great Animal Ally. It is viewed as a Spirit Animal, Totem, or Power Animal to many the world over. This powerful Medicine brings forward many desired strong traits in our Magick. Polar Bear brings forth great emotional healing that is often used in deep Shadow Work Medicine. Our Bear Allies teach us how to endure circumstances that are out of our control and helps us see our ability to call upon all the resources available to us at that time. Delve deeply as it asks us to “surrender” to the Universe in order to accept our personal power more fully and become the master of our realities.

CORRESPONDENCES
Polar Bear is closely tied to the Winter Solstice. Symbolically, Polar Bear is a magnificent symbol of grounding energy and strength, and they have a deep connection with Mother Earth & the cycles of Her nature. They are a magical animal known for their beauty and power that they hold inside well. As it asks us to surrender to the Universe, it simultaneously reminds us of our own inner strength & abilities. Yona is a symbol that we need to enjoy more as humans, especially when we are being playful and have moments of solace, but also when we make time to rest and recuperate, As the Great Bear says, “sleep is to be taken, not stolen.”

In many indigenous stories, all bears are symbols of boundless wisdom. They are often featured as Guardians, Teachers, Leaders, and Healers in Native origin stories, myths, and legends. Yona is even known to assist in Grounding our Spirit to our Sacred Spaces when we astral travel. Yona also works with divination and empowers those seeking the psychic mysteries and dream. Ally Bear is known for their ability to keep fighting, even when they are wounded, as Bear Allies are closely tied to many Medicines, especially Healing. Many indigenous believe that bears are able to heal their own wounds.

MYTHOLOGY
Throughout all time different stories have come from many places, covered by bear’s territory. One such example are the many versions of Callisto's story. According to some writers, Zeus transformed himself into the figure of Artemis to pursue Callisto, and she slept with him believing Zeus to be Artemis. She became pregnant and when this was eventually discovered, she was expelled from Artemis's group, after which a furious Hera, the wife of Zeus, transformed her into a bear, although in some versions Artemis is the one to give her an ursine form. Later, just as she was about to be killed by her son when he was hunting, she was set among the stars as Ursa Major ("the Great Bear") by Zeus. She was the bear-mother of the Arcadians, through her son Arcas by Zeus.

Below you will find a video of this seemingly “not so flattering” story from Greek/Roman mythos.

This will be a refresher for some of you, a new thought for others. Watch this video until a good grasp on the first FOUR dimensions is seen or felt, if they are not already Experienced through your regular meditational practices.

All possibilities for all times exist in the 10th Dimension of Matter. We have yet to understand if there is “more” to Matter, but as we understand it, if this is what we see and theorize in our perception of Matter, imagine Spirit.

As above, so below.”

Please give a “like” and Subscribe. We need more to understand, or at least “think about”, these concepts if we are ever going to initiate Change as a current species, no matter what Universe or Time we exist in.
