Ally Fox is one of the friendliest greeter in Magick and Medicine. Animal Ally Fox is usually first up to greet Practitioners when they begin the walk of their Medicine Wheel of Life. Overall, Fox represents extreme cleverness and cunning which has led to the expressions, “sly as a fox” or “outfoxing.” Fox Medicine involves adaptability, agility, misdirection, unpredictability, and the ability to see through deception.

What does this Medicine help evolve, you ask? DISCERNMENT!
That is your Key take away as we begin our Journey with Fox Medicine.

For today’s Medicine, a Stone Ally, drawn – imagined – or in actuality that is representative of the Stone Medicine of Fox in to be placed on your Wheel or Circle for the beginning of this lifelong Journey. (If you have not already.)

Yes, you have all already begun and have been visited by your First Animal or an equal representative to begin Work. We have already begun to gather our Stone Allies. What have you found? That Animal Ally can be considered your current “significator”, just as in tarot. Remember, in tarot, we have a significator card sometimes that regularly shows up in readings that represent us specifically. (It is a card that is connected to us in Spirit. A task. A monad or Stream of Consciousness, etc.) But this is another part of that. Fox has some things to tell you before they step into your Gallery of Guides and Hall of Ancestors. This is YOUR Medicine that is being shown to you.

Fox Medicine is a reflection of YOU, your inner Self, your Self Love…. YOU.

Fox says,
Your resurrection has occurred, or is occurring.
You are here in Matter.
You are alive, and Aware.
You have manifested into Matter, and are now aware of you Spirit Self.
You have accomplished “outfoxing” previous Experiences more than one time to be able to make it to this point in your Life. Your Discernment is developing. You will continue to grow and go further.

Let us reflect on Fox Medicine while pondering our personal resurrection.

Spend a few moments thinking about your birth into this plane. Was it easy? Were you born in some place “out of the ordinary”? Was your birth mother a good Caregiver of you in utero? Remember, Shadow begins before we breath our first breath of Air. In Water we are formed. That in itself is a virtual sea of emotion. Did your birth mother suffer a lot of stress or anxiety while pregnant?

This will effect/affect you.

Did your birth mother eat well, or were meals difficult to come by? Were they an addict of some sort? Food? Was she on opiods or a “drinker”?

This will effect/affect you.

As a neonate, you will have withdrawals.
As a neonate, you will have anxiety coming from an anxious environment.
Remember, if your birth mother was stressed, you swam 24-7 in her anxiety produced hormones.

How do you think all of this will, or has, effected/affected you?

After spending some time in thought on our entry onto this plane, we ask, “how are we going to traverse differently from today?” How do you interpret what Knowledge you have been shown? Whether you feel like a new soul -- or you feel like you have been here before, how will you proceed?

Fox asks, do you feel like you may need to throw something off of your trail, such as Familial Shadow or Shadow from another life? Do you need to make a misleading set of tracks for your safety? Fox Medicine can also cunningly evade or elude a bad situation. Or, have you already been doing that? Is it time to stop and build an “Earthing”, or Den?

The other aspect of Fox Medicine as stated is Self Love.

As we resurrect, reincarnate, it is important to have good strong Guides in place and Caregivers chosen that will give us the fullest Divine Experience possible.

Adaptability

Fox Medicine is a Master-Teacher at the art of camouflage, or hiding with Intent. Being a night creature, Fox is imbued with supernatural powers. They are walkers of their path in the brambles, reverse-engineering snares in the dark. Shapeshifters, only occasionally flashing Foxfur Fire (will-o’-the-wisp) as it passes you or needs you to See something specific.

As you see Fox in Matter, it is covered in crimson, scarlet, browns, scarlet and sometimes snowy white… where it Heals in your Shadow will determine its appearance. The night is their canvas of Experience. Dusk, the alert given to Fox to “sleep now”, the Self of Matter is Awake again. Sly Fox. Dawn the twilight that begs us to come back to who we are, waking as Fox Medicine is grounded inside of us.

They See between worlds because they are between Time and Space. They are here with you as Guides through your Manifestation into Matter.

Cunning Shapeshifter

Medicine People, Healers, who are able to succeed with varying levels of healthy detachment and deep Intuition, are the Shamans wielding Fox Medicine.
They are able to step back from almost any situation that comes at them, viewing it in a more holistic and beneficial way. Fox Medicine transcends the ordinary.

Her ability to blend has taken over to such an extent that she becomes Blendedness itself. A representative of All That Is. She goes beyond labels, beyond pigeonholed and Self-Limiting Ego identities. She has become numinous, directly interdependent with the underlying process.

Can YOU take a moment, a Time in your meditations or daily practices to “just Be”? Can you sit in stillness as a human connected to all other humans… and FEEL that?

Trickster Misunderstandings

Among the indigenous, Fox-Woman seduces men. She is also Fox-Man tricking men, but She is not foremost a trickster. She is Fox-Buffalo, Fox-Coyote, Fox-Crow and so on. As Ruth Brown said, “A fox is a wolf who sends flowers.” This is needed in the world. Fox can Protect without Harm. Indeed. Fox has even been known to outfox Herself, stumbling into underhandedness and chicanery unintentionally. But She always finds Her way back to the essence of things through Her cunning and wit. She bonds with your First Animal.

Who is it?

MATTER AND SPIRIT
She outfoxes Life as well as Death. Mortality and ashes are mere makeup to Her, or Him, or they. Remember, identity is a human thing. It is not always relevant unless you have Healing in that aspect of your Being of pure Energy. Ally Fox divinely Sees what lay beyond into All of What Is.

Fox is Kitsune whipping Her nine tails at eternity, outfoxing Deity Herself. Indeed. She is Fox-God or Fox-Goddess. She is what you need to help you heal any Birth Trauma you may have. She is here to bless your arrival and beginning your Medicine Walk.

“Along the life-death-rebirth Cycle, resurrection is foremost for me. This is where our consciousness for this plane begins, or carries on if all of these things are in place. Guides. Caregivers. All towards you being a Conscious Incarnate. This concept permeates almost all of our ancient mythologies. The Buddhist looks for this with every birth. After the death of high Buddhist monks, the Lamas find out where the reincarnation will be born. The monks go into retreat, perform rituals and take down a list of names of children born during that particular period.

We see too of children around the world having memory from other times, so clearly that they can take you to the home “they used to” live it.

Just as Butterfly, Fox symbolizes Resurrection in a different and beneficial way TO YOU. “No two Paths are the same.” With Her ability to shape-shift into anything, there is no reason to assume She cannot cunningly shape-shift into a Spider, Heron, or Squirrel energetically for one’s Highest Benefit.”

Mythos

In many Fox mythologies, it is believed that these powers reside in the Fox’s tail. Fox is cross-culturally seen as a powerful animal-totem.

In China and Japan there are myths of Kitsune foxes taking female human form.

The Dogon of West Africa still practice Fox divinations today. The Blackfoot and Apache associate Fox with fire and the sun, crediting Fox for stealing fire from the Gods and gifting it to humanity. (Remember the Spider?)

To most, the tail is the most sacred part of the Fox.

As such, there is an intriguing myth called the Nine-tailed Fox. (Cats and nine lives? Nine is a sacred number amongst all Beings.) In most mythologies, these foxes gain a new tail and increase their power every 100 years until they reach the full nine (1,000 years), when they then ascend to a demigod-like status. But another way to interpret the mythology is through resurrection, where each new tail represents a rebirth from death or from a Dark Night of the Soul.

From American Literature, Atticus profoundly states, “Let my death be a long and magnificent life.” The Healer of Three Circles who is wielding Nine-tail Fox Medicine is a Shaman who has Experienced multiple Dark Nights of the Soul. (Effects of Magick and Medicine Work manifesting.)
Fox uses the energy to empower continual rebirth and self-overcoming. This Medicine is also powerful in aiding Shamanic Transmigration between worlds and bodies, thus smoothing the crossing and re-crossing of thresholds (Hekate) along the ancient monomyth, making it easier to transfer otherworldly elixir (Medicine) into the mortal realm. We work in the Astral (Spirit) with Fox Medicine to bring Medicine to ourselves and to others.
