Intermediate Practicum
External Healer

Today is going to be a challenge for some of you.  This exercise is NEVER to shame ourselves.  REMEMBER THAT.  We do this to keep maintenance on our bodies, the only ones we’ll receive in this lifetime.  This will take about 45 minutes and it is only to show Higher Self that we can look and we can feel the presence of what is here in Matter. Not many spend intimate time with Self in Matter, exploring, feeling, looking, and ultimately healing their bodies.

This is most easily done before or after a shower or bath.  Yes. You are required to be disrobed, but privately.  Undisturbed.  Set your environmental Intentions to Heal. Medicine. Clear.  Cleanse.  BE WARM.  BE FED.  BE RESTED.  You may light incense.  Candles. Play soft music. Whatever you feel you need to do to make self comfortable with Self. (Please leave hair natural for this examination of Self.)

A mirror will be needed as we do not have literal eyes in the back of our heads.

You will need something of “healing” to anoint yourself with.  This essence or oil is entirely your choice but its purpose is to symbolize a promise to Self that you are paying attention to where the anointing goes. You will also need a notebook, journal, or piece of paper to write on.  You may also access things like Google Notes or others. It is your Medicine and Magick that dictates this.

Be warm. Be fed. Be comfortable. Remain clean, clear and curious with Divine Sight.

Once all is set as you need, begin with looking at your feet.

Feet

What do you see?  Are they mottled?  Callused?  Do the nails need tending to? Do you notice if they are warm or cold? Write down the things your notice about your feet.

Feet are important to us as we go through life, whether we walk or not. Do not have any feet? That is okay too. Remember, we are WHOLE BEINGS. You can see your feet in Spirit.  What do you see? Do you see familial feet? Do they look like a parent or grandparent’s feet?

Legs

Moving up the body, we look at our legs.
Are they functioning for you?  Are they weak, or strong?  Are they shaved? Losing hair? Is there a permanent “sock line”? A scar from an accident or knee surgery? How about the back of the knees? Do you see any varicose veins? Do they hurt? Write down any other findings of note.

Hips

Hips are important for movement whether we have feet or legs. They are part of our “sits bones”.  Hips are part of our pelvic girdle and help us maintain balance within our bodies when sitting.

What do you see?  How do they look?  Do they hurt? How so? Do they pop when you walk? Is there a scar nearby from a surgery or childbirth?

Gently palpate each side of your groin, where your underwear line would be.

Do you feel any pain or discomfort? Are there swollen glands here? Write down anything of note regarding your hips, whether it is seen or felt.

Torso

All of our vital organs are in our torso as are four of many energy points that we attune and align to in life.

What do you see?

Are any parts of the torso over those energy points in pain, or discomfort? Is there discomfort near one? For the inside of your torso, make a note of anything you KNOW is wrong with your organs, as well as what you SUSPECT.

While a diagnosis is not always needed, it is important if you suspect something because it could be from another person, or another life of yours. Take note.  Also note if preventative medicine has been done recently as in a mammogram, prostate exam, or colonoscopy. (Being aware of your genetic predisposition for cancer is good, too.) If not, when was your last breast exam that you did on yourself? Even males of our species can develop breast cancer.  (We are currently at between 4-6 percent of our cases being male.) Being under 35 should never stop you from caring for the only body of Self you will have.

For the outside, what do you see?  Do you think you look bloated, obese, underweight? Do you look pale, grayish, or blue-ish? Do you look ashen? Do you see any “dark spots” that concern you? Are there keloids that have suddenly appeared? Scars? Moles? Growths or skin tags? Take note of these things that are happening to your body
WITHOUT JUDGEMENT… ONLY LOVE.

Neck

The neck we do as a stand alone as it contains its own energy point and is crucial to finding and having our personal voices in life.  Do you have a voice, literally? Does it sound odd, raspy, or crackly?  How does your throat feel? Teeth? Tongue? Can you rotate, “taco”, or twist your tongue without it hurting?  Gently palpate (touch) your neck, front and back.  Use the amount of pressure that you would in testing a cake for springiness. Or, Mom-spit a kids face clean.  Do not cause yourself pain when doing this, but do not fear feeling these body parts. You will not hurt them touching them in palpation.

Do you feel any glands swollen?  The front of the neck contains the thyroid, which is kind of shaped like a butterfly with spread wings over your neck and parathyroids, little soft pebbles around it.  Do they feel sore? Are they tender? Make note of your findings.

Head

The head is a little more involved. It contains most of our data input senses of Matter.  Eyes. Ears. Nose. Mouth and top of throat.  How are these things? Are they clear? Are they stuffy, or runny, or other? When you look into your mouth, how does your tongue appear? Fleshy pink? Gray? Is your tongue coated? Note the same for your other sensory organs of the head.

Now, feel your head with your hands.  Palpate the scalp. Do you have any sore spots?  Notice any dry or oily scalp? Do you feel any indentions, or can you feel the suture lines of your skull? Feel the very top of your skull, where a baby’s “soft spot” is. THAT is where your Crown Chakra, or an energy point is said to be on some Paths. How does it feel? Makes notes.

Arms & Hands

Starting with either side, what do you see?  Does the skin look dry? Do you see age spots, liver spots, on your hands or forearms? Scars? How do your fingernails look? Are they ridged? Do the nails split layers easily? (Don’t pull them apart, if you know, you know.)  What happens to the skin under your nail when you push on it? Does it turn pale, or blue? (This tells you if the “distal” parts of your body are receiving enough oxygen from your lungs and heart.)

What do your elbows look like? Do they pop? Do you have pain? Discomfort? How about your shoulders? Can you rotate each one of them? How about your axillary, or armpit area? Lifting one arm up at a time and placing it behind your head, palpate under your arm with the opposite hand.  Do you feel any pain or discomfort? Are there skin tags present, or moles? Take note of what you see.

Now, breathe.

You have just completed a full body external exam on yourself.  In time you will become more thorough and perceptive but this is how we start.

Breathe.

There is something in particular in your personal exam notes that piqued your curiosity, or you noticed was energetically “off”, or “tender”, or something along those lines.  NONE OF US are “perfect” in our bodies. We either do not look at ourselves as we do others, or judge ourselves, or simply do not make time for Self Care.

Today you are.

Once you have finished your routine, bathing, dressing, etc, you are asked to address that body part that jumped out at you.  While we recommend making that appointment with your Primary Care Physician or Nurse Practitioner, we also encourage you to send Health or Healing Energy or Medicine to your body.  Where shall it go?

You are tasked to do a Healing Spell, Medicine or Magick for Self.

For Intent, please list “Healing” for (list body part)

Do some research to determine your best course of action for healing, Practitioner.  Determine if you need to consume more foods that are healing to a particular energy point, thyroid, or liver to deciding if something else needs your Intention more.  Explore methods that can assist you in taking better care of that body part. What part is it?  How can you do your part to aid your Magickal or Medicinal Intent of Healing?

You are asked to align a minimum of three correspondences, such as Stone, Plant, and Color – or Day, Moon, and Element, to your healing process.

What will you decide?
